Children are a vital part of our congregation. We offer many opportunities for them to participate in worship, learning, and fellowship.

Sunday School: Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30am. All children meet for children's
choir in the choir room at 9:30am
Nursery: Staffed by trained workers, the nursery provides a safe and happy place for your littlest
ones. It is available during worship, Sunday School, choir rehearsal, and other church functions.
Available upon request for any church gathering.
Acolyte: Each Sunday morning St. Luke’s United Methodist Church invites children to light the altar
candles. This is an important part of the worship service, as it heightens spiritual awareness for the
worship hour. We welcome each child to come and be a part of the acolyte program.
Mother’s Day Out: “More Than Graham Crackers” Under the direction of Lettie Armond, is a
Mother’s Day Out program on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For
your child, this is a time of experiencing the world outside the home, learning to share, and
interacting with other children. For Mom, this can be a time to accomplish things that have been put
aside, take a class at the university, or just relax. For more information, call the church office.

Christ’s Kids: All children ages 4 yrs. - 5th grade are invited for an evening
of Bible study, food, fellowship, mission projects, music and other activities.
We meet from 5:30pm - 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please see the
newsletter for a current list of events.
Children's Church: Children's Church is an actual worship service and there is
an order of worship much like that of "Big Church". It is not meant to take the place of
Sunday School. Each week the children will get a memory verse. If they can quote
the verse the next week to any of the adult leaders, they will get a treat. Help your
children learn the verses so they can hide God's word in their hearts.
On the first Sunday of every month children are encouraged to have communion,
followed by a time of learning about prayer, communion and other aspects of
worship.
